AIMRI CONFERENCE PARIS - Meeting the challenge of difficult research assignments 03 June 2013
What is the meeting about? Among the topics to be explored will be the following:
Handling cultural diversity in different markets
Including difficult to reach respondent groups
Finding methods of cutting costs
Facing differential (and often falling) response rates
Dealing with multiple languages
Dealing with rapid turnaround timings
There will also be another Open Council Meeting where members are welcome to express their views.
Everyone who visits Paris probably has the same list of major attractions to hit: The Louvre, Notre Dame, The Eiffel Tower, etc. Just make sure you leave some time to wander the city’s grand boulevards and eat in as many cafes, bistros and brasseries as possible. And don’t forget the shopping - whether your tastes run to Louis Vuitton or the flea market, you can find it in Paris
The priority for all visitors is to get a good overview of Paris, and see as many landmarks as possible. Happily, many of Paris' most famous landmarks are relatively close together and there are a variety of ways to see the most well-known sights. The Seine River flows through Paris and is treated almost as if it is an "avenue" of the city.
AIMRI has selected the very elegant CNA conference centre (Cercle National des Armées) as the conference location. This officers’ club has now opened up its facilities to other organisations. At the heart of the main business and shopping district the CNA has reflected since 1924 the cosmopolitan elegance and charm typical of Paris. It is 2 minutes’ walk from the Astor hotel (see below).
AIMRI has selected the Hôtel Astor Saint-Honoré - a comfortable 4 star hotel in a central position close to the Rue du Faubourg St Honoré and also to the Boulevard Haussmann. We also have rooms available at the CNA CERCLE NATIONAL DES ARMEES

What is included
We are keeping the fee per delegate to a minimum £320 (€370) this includes registration, attendance at all the sessions, lunch (with wine), tea/coffee breaks and the gala dinner. There is a 20% discount for second and subsequent delegates from the same company. The delegate fee is payable by all attending the sessions, including those giving short presentations. There will be no charge for accompanying persons but they may not attend the formal sessions: there will however be an extra charge for the gala dinner guests.
The Gala Dinner is included in the full delegate fee. This will cover aperitifs at the restaurant and a gourmet meal with wine. There will be a cost of £80 (€95) per person for guests.
For non members there is a slightly higher fee. In the case of new members who attend the meeting and join within 2 months we will waive the joining fee and refund the difference between the member and non-member meeting fees.
How to get there
There are connections to all parts of the world from the various Paris airports.
Why not stay for the weekend before and enjoy this fascinating city. We are looking at organising an informal trip with a lunch or dinner for delegates, their partners and families to Montmarte/Sacre-Coeur on the Sunday prior to the Conference.
