Conference in Paris 12 October 2007
AIMRI Meeting – “Global trends in the 21st Century” Friday 12 October 2007 – Paris - synopses requested
What is the meeting about?
AIMRI's third conference in Paris will set itself the daunting task of considering how research can measure (and if possible even predict) changes in fast-developing consumer markets all over the world. The rapid growth of consumption in huge markets like India and China is setting enormous challenges for researchers as are new electronic methods of selling via the internet. The conference will also offer opportunities to look at the latest ways of measuring Customer Satisfaction. Anyone wishing to make a short presentation in Paris should contact Richard Chilton at the address below.
Simultaneous translation – French/English & English/French will be provided.
Research among our members shows that Paris is an extremely popular venue for International research events. Many of our friends will remember previous successful conferences there in October 1996 and June 2000. Delegates can consider staying over the weekend to take advantage of the artistic sights, restaurants, entertainments, trips on the Seine etc.
There will be a gala dinner for members and their guests after the formal sessions on Friday 12 October.
AIMRI will return for the conference for the third time to the Hôtel de Castiglione - a comfortable 4 star hotel noted for its unique central position on the Rue du Faubourg St Honoré. In addition we have reserved additional rooms in the nearby 3 star Hôtel Madeleine Haussman. This hotel is located near the Madeleine – an ideal location for tourism and business. Renovated in 2003 the hotel is a few minutes away from all the main sights. A third option is the Hôtel Cordelia, a pleasant 3 star hotel also near the Madeleine and the shops.
The Rugby World Cup finals start in Paris on Saturday 13 October and the hotels expect a rush of supporters. If you know already that you intend to come to the AIMRI meeting it would be advisable to book now. At present we have an allocation of rooms at all 3 hotels but after 20 July we stand to lose the rooms we have not taken up.
What is included
We are keeping the member fee per delegate to a minimum £210 (€305); this includes registration, attendance at all the sessions, lunch (with wine), tea/coffee breaks and the gala dinner. The delegate fee is payable by all attending the sessions, including those giving short presentations. There will be no charge for accompanying persons but they may not attend the formal sessions: there will however be an extra charge for the gala dinner guests.
For non members there is a slightly higher fee. In the case of new members who attend the meeting and join within 2 months we will waive the joining fee and refund the difference between the member and non-member meeting fees.
The Gala Dinner is included in the full delegate fee. This will cover aperitifs at the restaurant and a gourmet meal with wine. There will be a cost of £55 (€80) per person for guests.
Sponsorship & trade stands
We will offer members opportunities to sponsor the conference events. It will be possible also to take trade stands for a modest fee.
How to get there
There are air services to the Paris airports from all parts of the world. There are also good train services from London, Amsterdam, Brussels and many parts of Germany.
This will be another interesting conference in an outstanding location.
